Titans Defense Ranks Among NFL’s Best Early On
Posted by on September 28, 2011 – 11:20 amThrough the first three weeks of the season, the Titans have fielded one of the top defenses in the NFL. They currently rank first overall in yards allowed per contest:
1. Tennessee Titans (261.0)
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (263.3)
3. Cincinnati Bengals (276.3)
On a scoring basis, the Titans rank second in the NFL, allowing only 14.3 points per game:
1. Baltimore Ravens (13.3)
2. Tennessee Titans (14.3)
3. Detroit Lions (15.3)
Credit new defensive coordinator Jerry Gray and the defensive coaching staff for getting the Titans to produce at a high level early on with little time to get in sync following the lockout.

The D has definitely improved. But it sure helps when your offense can sustain drives and not a bunch of 3 and outs like in recent years.

With a guy like Barrett Ruud in the mix now it greatly improves our defense. Back in the day we always had a great line and linebacking crew. CB’s have always been a little subject however, not superized to see us back towards the top. Now to see out offense do something??

I think the titan’s D has definitely stepped up. Shoutout to our new defensive coordinator. Our new team demeanor about ourselves has changed. We face the steelers in a couple of weeks, and I knowour secondary has a treat for him. I predict the scoree will be 27 to 17 Tennessee.
