CJ is NFL’s Rushing Leader Over Last 4 Weeks

Posted by Gary Glenn on December 8, 2011 – 5:23 pm

Chris Johnson appears to be back on track — and in a big way.

Johnson rushed for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Tennessee’s 23-17 victory at Buffalo. He notched 190 rushing yards the previous week vs. Tampa Bay, giving him back-to-back 150-yard rushing efforts for the second time in his career.

So after totaling just 366 rushing yards through the first eight games, Johnson has rushed for an NFL-high 486 yards over the last four weeks. His 5.7-yard rushing average is second in the NFL over that span, behind only San Diego’s Ryan Mathews’ 5.9-yard average.

1. Chris Johnson (Ten) – 486 yards (5.7 avg)

2. Marshawn Lynch (Sea) – 456 yards (4.3 avg)

3. Maurice Jones-Drew (Jac) – 397 yards (4.7 avg)

4. Ray Rice (Bal) – 394 yards (5.3 avg)

5. Beanie Wells (Ari) – 390 yards (5.0 avg)

6. Michael Bush (Oak) – 353 yards (3.8 avg)

7. DeMarco Murray (Dal) – 333 yards (4.2 avg)

8. Ryan Mathews (SD) – 320 yards (5.9 avg)

9. LeSean McCoy (Phi) – 309 yards (4.8 avg)

10. Michael Turner (Atl) – 300 yards (3.9 avg)
