Posted by Gary Glenn on September 30, 2012 – 1:07 pm

Matt Hasselbeck stepped in for an injured Jake Locker and fired a 19-yard touchdown pass to Craig Stevens, pulling the Titans within 14-7 with 7:52 remaining in the first half at Reliant Stadium.

The scoring drive covered 78 yards on seven plays, marking the first touchdown of the season for Stevens and the fourth of his career.

It was the first touchdown pass of the season for Hasselbeck and the 195th of his career.

Hasselbeck has completed 4 of 6 passes for 74 yards and a TD (148.6 passer rating).

Locker injured his left shoulder being sacked by Houston’s Glover Quin in the first quarter. He is questionable to return.

Its hard enough to beat the Texans by themselves, but when you’re playing against the Referees as well, it’s impossible to beat the team plus the refs! The Texans had 1 penalty for 3 yards, the Titans had 9 for 73! Read what you will into that! Yes, I know 3 turnovers will kill you, but in the same breath when Reynaud ran that punt back into the Texans territory, a penalty was called for block in the back. When they showed the replay, it was 100% obvious that the hit was as legal as any hit I’ve ever seen! That one penalty cost us over 30 yards…straight up garbage B.S.!!! Hang in their Titans, it aint over ’til its over! And the texans schedule the rest of the way could be brutal! In fact i see them dropping 6 maybe 7 games to end their season. We can get back into this! I Hope!!!:-)

I am very disappointed in our football team, we have alot of talent on our team, I totally blame our coaches, we have subpar defense and offense coordinators

I do agree the refs suck in this game.Everytime we got the ball rolling we get a terrible call. I do see some improvement, but overall we need to get better as a team. 3 or 4 more losses an we DONE. Munchak has to get this team prepared for the next 3 games or its not going to look to good. GO TITANS

Lets just call it as it is. This is a bad football team. I’ve seen enough of this team to know how this season is going to end. Looking forward to the 2013 draft and the #1 overall pick.

This is by far the worst coaching staff in the league. Munchak was a great O Line coach but he’s not head coaching material. Palmer has all of these weapons on offense and can’t figure out how to get consistency out of the offense. Jerry Gray is on course to running himself out of the NFL with his style of coaching. I thought Cecil was a bad defensive coordinator. Gray is on another level. JG, it’s OK to send a blitz every now and then. What do you have to lose at this point? Your defense is getting shredded sitting back in these soft zones every week. Try something new.

The offense is too inconsistent and injury prone and the defense couldn’t stop everyone in the chat room. What ever happened to the good Titans defense of the past?

Mr. Adams, it’s time to blow this team up completely. We need a complete overhaul of this team. I’ve been a fan of the Titans / Oliers for years but this group of players and coaches will never compete for a Super Bowl.

It’s just too frustrating watching this team every week. I can handle a loss but these guys are not even competitive. They are not just losing games, they are getting crushed out there every week.

The defense is giving up points and yardage at a rate that it won’t matter if this offense begins to turn things around. Opposing offenses are moving the ball at will. For those of you that think the schedule is going to get easier, you need to really look at this team.

The games against the Colts, Jags, and Dolphins are going to tougher than you think and we still have to play the Packers, Jets, Bears, and Steelers. Unless Jerry Gray makes some drastic changes NOW this is going to be one of the worst seasons in the history of the franchise.

The Titans lost by 24 points, please don’t put that loss on the refs. As in any game, there were bad calls on both sides. (With that said, many of the calls were the correct calls and 2 of the penalties were personal fouls by David Stewart that accounted for 30 yards. Did you want the refs to not call those obvious foulds?) The Titans are not a good team, but they’re not as bad, this season, as some of you are making them out to be. There is some talent on that team and they have a chance to compete, though if you’re counting on the Texans losing 7 games in order for the Titans to compete, you’ll be waiting a while. The problem for the Titans will be in the upcoming years; coaching is bad, talent, while currently present, is disappaiting, and young guys will have a hard time developing under these coaches. The team is on a downward trend, but there is still time to stop them from becoming a complete wreck if Bud Adams and Ruston Webster wake up soon.

Maybe Hasselbeck will get hurt and Rusty Smith will finally get his chance again.
