Chris JohnsonTitans running back Chris Johnson has 993 rushing yards in 2012 entering this week’s game at Indianapolis. With seven more rushing yards, he will reach the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the fifth consecutive season to begin his career. It would also give the Titans an individual 1,000-yard rusher for an NFL-high 15th time in the last 17 seasons.

The Titans selected former running back Eddie George in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft, and during his career, George went over 1,000 yards seven times (1996-00, 2002-03). Following his departure, Chris Brown (2004), Travis Henry (2006), LenDale White (2007) and Johnson (2008-11) all have reached the mark.

Since George’s rookie season, no NFL team has had more 1,000-yard rushing seasons than the Titans.

Most individual 1,000-yard rushing seasons, 1996–2012*:

12 – Cincinnati Bengals
11 – Atlanta Falcons
11 – Denver Broncos
11 – Minnesota Vikings
11 – New York Giants

Among all active players, Johnson is tied for fourth place with four career 1,000-yard rushing seasons. St. Louis’ Steven Jackson leads the pack with seven, followed by Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson (five), San Francisco’s Frank Gore (five), Johnson (four), Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch (four) and Denver’s Willis McGahee (four).

People people. Chris Johnson is the reason we are winning games in the first place. Think about it. Where would we be if he hasn’t been our running back. He has been in the top 10 rushing all 5 years he has been in the league. I don’t think we would win any games if this man wasn’t our running back. He has made the difference in the long run and will do so. If cj stays with tennessee we may not win many games now, but in the future watch out. Cuz when he gets in the open field SEE YA LATER!
