Titans’ 2013 Opponents Nearly Set

Posted by Gary Glenn on December 26, 2012 – 4:16 pm

TitansWith one game remaining, all but one of the Titans’ 16 regular-season opponents for 2013 are set.

In addition to home and road games against each of their AFC South rivals (Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars), the Titans will face every team from the AFC West (Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers) and every team from the NFC West (Arizona Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks).

Additionally, every team plays two conference games based on order of finish within its respective division. No matter the result of this week’s games, the Titans are guaranteed to finish in third place in the AFC South. As a result, they will have a 2013 home game against the AFC East’s third-place team (New York Jets, Miami Dolphins or Buffalo Bills) and a road contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers, who will finish as the AFC North’s third-place club.

Dates and times of all 16 games, as well as preseason opponents and dates, are typically announced by the NFL in April.

Unless we make drastic improvements it looks like another long year next year.

we have major injury problems on the offensive line and the team as a whole but with a good defensive pick in that 6 to 8 range will help us improve and we have a lot of beautiful young talent.

With an obvious good draft pick available can you say MANTI-(TAN) TEO from Notre Dame. And for the sake of Jake don’t blow up the line….Coach-em up and get the strenght and conditioning coach to do what he gets paid for.

For the Titans to be successful in 2013 needs a coach that coaches with fire passion excitement and a since of urgency…(Coach Gruden Help)…the offensive line needs to stay healthy if not get reliable back-ups…and Jake Locker has to become a consistent Pocket passer hes great throwing on the run but neeeds improvement on his pocket passing and accuracy from the pocket…wich had alot to do with the O-line Not being healthy…the Defense being as young as they has to step their play week in week out…

There is promise all over Tennessee Roster. Our wide receiver gang looks great if they can stay healthy, CJ still has alot left in him and with AP passing him in the record books it should give him some motivation. but I feel a power running back should be picked up too. Jake Locker is a work in progress and I’m hoping a good chunk of the growing pains are out of the way. He shows signs of promise then a play later he leaves you shaking your head. Our D is also a shady bunch. One week they are returning interceptions for points and not letting teams go anywhere but the next they are running into each other, getting penalties and letting teams walk right to the goal line. Our special teams are 2nd to none and with Mariani back and Reynaud competing for a job there might be some magic made with some trickery. I think the draft/free agencies coming up will focus on O-Line protection for Locker and Defense. One more thing….I won’t be shocked if Alex Smith gets traded from San Fran and Tennessee is sniffing around him. Bud Adams is the cheapest prick in the NFL but wants a SuperBowl in the few years he has left. Just opinions…..

we need a new OC cord who can run and pass. I thought Norv, but he has a tendency to abandon the run game. If Kyle Shannahan does not get a HC job, we should make a run and throw some money that way. I liked our D late in the season, besides that beat down we took against GB. they started to blitz, and play press coverage. LB’s look good, Secondary needs help at Corner and Safety. O-Line needs interior help, at both guards and center. WR’s are ok, and so is the backfield, but we could use a reliable back up to CJ. Harper was a mess and Reynard was not a great back but IDK what they are gonna do with the Return game with Marc coming back. Lot to change this offseason, but more to grow and get better. If Jake can really step up we could sniff the playoffs, with out him and a good passing game, we will be picking top 10 again.
