NFL.com’s List of Top Free Agent Safeties

Posted by Gary Glenn on March 5, 2013 – 4:51 pm

Glover-Quin-Picks-3The Titans began addressing their needs before the start of free agency by signing former Bills safety George Wilson.

Wilson adds a productive, veteran leader to play alongside Michael Griffin in a secondary that includes starting cornerbacks Jason McCourty and Alterraun Verner.

But are the Titans finished addressing the position?

If not, more options will be available when the NFL’s free agency period begins Tuesday.

Here’s a list of top free agent safeties compiled by NFL.com Around the League Writer Chris Wesseling.

1. Jairus Byrd, Buffalo Bills (tagged as franchise player)
2. Glover Quin, Houston Texans
3. Dashon Goldson, San Francisco 49ers
4. Kenny Phillips, New York Giants
5. William Moore, Atlanta Falcons
6. LaRon Landry, New York Jets
7. Ed Reed, Baltimore Ravens
8. Louis Delmas, Detroit Lions
9. Pat Chung, New England Patriots
10. Charles Woodson, Green Bay Packers
11. Ronde Barber, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
12. Chris Clemons, Miami Dolphins
13. Jamarca Sanford, Minnesota Vikings
14. Rashad Johnson, Arizona Cardinals
15. Jim Leonhard, Denver Broncos
16. Corey Lynch, San Diego Chargers
17. Yeremiah Bell, New York Jets
18. Madieu Williams, Washington Redskins
19. Abram Elam, Kansas City Chiefs
20. Sherrod Martin, Carolina Panthers

Others: Chris Crocker, Michael Mitchell, Eric Smith, Craig Dahl, Matt Giordano, Ryan Mundy, Brodney Pool.

Wesseling expects Quin and Goldson to draw the most interest as players still in the prime of their careers with Byrd off the market.
