Titans Waive QB Tyler Wilson

Posted by Joe Fann on August 6, 2014 – 9:32 am

Tyler WilsonThe Titans announced Monday morning that they have waived second year quarterback Tyler Wilson. Wilson was competing for the #3 QB spot on the depth chart with rookie Zach Mettenberger. The former fourth round pick for the Raiders spent much of the 2013 season on Oakland’s practice squad before the Titans signed him to their active roster late in the year.

The move makes room for defensive tackle Lanier Coleman who was signed today.

The team also placed tight end Dorin Dickerson on injured reserve and signed tight end Chase Coffman. Coffman has spent four seasons in the NFL and has 4 career catches for 41 yards. Coffman is a former third round pick for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Well I guess they will always be a bad team with bad QB’s. You let a good QB go and you kept a cheater, and a trouble maker Qb for #3. Why has the NFL not punished Mettenberger on his tainted urine sample?????????

Yeah, he was so good that he was on the Raiders practice squad last season. Stupid comment dude.

@brad – Tyler Wislon was anything but a good QB, as charles smith noted Wilson was placed on the Raiders practice squad because he got beat out by another rookie (Matt McGloin) who was undrafted. It sounds like you just have a problem with Mettenberger bro.
